Funding for childcare costs is available for young mums wishing to continue in education or training.
     

At The Children's Centre we play games — scrabble, draughts, bingo etc. or outside games.
We bake cakes and biscuits, do art and crafts and chill out with our friends!

 

The Children's Centre works in partnership with Health, Job Centre Plus, Childminding Matters, Adult Education, Home Start and other nurseries and organisations to provide a range of services Including courses and training, home visiting etc. The Children's Centre are able to provide meeting and training room facilities within the centre.

The Children’s Centre is here to meet the needs of the communities it serves so we welcome ideas and suggestions for other services or activities that you would like to see offered.

In partnership with Hunstanton Infant School we provide extended schools care—breakfast club, holiday play scheme and after school club for children 5—11 years.

We are able to provide a collection from school service in Hunstanton and Heacham.

COLLECTING FROM SCHOOL ...  When we collect the children from school we will use our minibus if we are picking up from Heacham Schools.  This vehicle is fully maintained and has child seats/boosters.  If we are only collecting children from Hunstanton Schools we may use our ‘walking bus’.  The children on the walking bus will all wear florescent vests. There will be an adult / child ratio of no less than 1 adult to 4 children for children aged 4—8. Children aged 8 –11 will use the walking bus with no less than 1 adult to 6 children.

Kidz Own aims to provide a safe, caring and inclusive environment where children are able to choose from a wide range of activities.

We offer fun, creative (messy!) make-its and theme nights (sweet and cereal making, biscuit decorating, party nights etc.) To balance this there is a quiet area to do homework, play with construction toys and generally chill out! There is something for everyone,

We use our outside, enclosed play area as much as we possibly can. Our mornings and afternoons are led by the children as we recognise and value the need for the children to have a ‘break’ from the ‘school’ routine environment. We aim to provide a homely environment where children can choose what they would like to do.

Our staff are always here to help and talk to, we value your comments and aim to provide you with the peace of mind knowing that your child is being cared for whilst you work.

We have 16 places available in Kidz Own.  Bookings must be made in advance to ensure we have the correct ratios of adults to children for transport (after school club only) and during the sessions.

Please telephone or call in to book your places, or remember to pick up a monthly booking form when you collect your child.

NB: The centre closes for 2 weeks at the end of August and 2 weeks at Christmas.
