Parking
Park in the large western car park (grid ref: TF680 229) rather than the eastern one (TF 698 229) so you can walk onto more open areas (most productive for key species).  Nature trails leading off from the eastern car park are worth exploring too.

Much potential for migrants can be found here, just east of the famous RSPB bird reserve at Titchwell, on a varied and beautiful corner of the Norfolk coast.  The wet woodlands on the east side of the path draws tired and hungry migrants, creating fantastic opportunities for birders.  There are views over scrub-lined fields, grazing marsh, a large tidal reedbed, Brancaster Freshes and more.  It is a wonderful location to wait patiently to see what appears.

In September, birds will be permanently on the move so don't forget to look high up to watch them migrate.  Explore the north-south orientated path, or go east and find Brancaster beach car park and golf course and return by the beach road and the A149 (taking care as it is a busy road).

Passerines, Waders, Seabirds and Raptors are plentiful.  You can record a good selection of migrating birds In classic drifting weather conditions.  Other birds you may see include Pied and Spotted Flycatchers, Red-breasted Flycatchers and a range of Warblers.  Whinchats and Wheatears abound in the fields, dunes, fences and grazing marsh.  Little Egrets will be found on the saltmarsh and Spotted Redshank and Greenshank like the tidal creeks.

The best time to visit is late August to late October and winter too.
